The Remington RX7 Lasted Three Months
I had high hopes for this one. Better looking than the Pitbull, but it worked less well and stopped working after three months.

Verdict
- Best for
- Hard to recommend. If you want this style of shaver, the Pitbull does the job better
- Closeness
- Fine at first, but it struggled and needed several passes once the stubble got longer
- Skin
- Nothing to report
- Time per shave
- Several passes on longer growth, so slower than I wanted
- Price
- Around $127 RRP, often discounted to about $92
- Tested
- Three months, until it died

Bought and tested by Mark. No affiliate links. How I test
I had high hopes for this bad boy.
It was recommended by some guys I know in branding and advertising, who happen to be bald too. We had a bit of a geek out on tooling, and reached a consensus that we both disliked the hideous pitbull logo on the Pitbull. They hadn’t tried the Remington, but had heard good things. So I went ahead and bought it.
While it worked
It felt very light and cheap. But aesthetically it was much better looking than the Pitbull, so I was happy about that. The built-in clipper is a nice idea, but if you have a beard it’s moot. You can’t blend sideburns with it, so you still carry a separate tool, the Stamen or a small set of clippers. A bit superfluous.
The first couple of runs were okay. But once the length got a little too stubbly, it struggled through and I’d have to do several passes. I found it less efficient than the Pitbull. So, more pleasing to look at, but it didn’t work as well. Not ideal if you’re after practicality and utility.
What broke
It just stopped working after about three months. I was keeping it as my backup in my locker at the gym downtown, charging it fairly regularly, and it stopped. The lights don’t come on.
The verdict
I like the way it looks. It didn’t work. I can’t recommend it. I’d still take the Pitbull over the Remington for that style of shaver.
But I’ll point you to my review of the Panasonic. I’m a couple of weeks in and loving it. Epic. Foil, super close, tiny, and thank God, USB-C.
