How I test
I don’t get affiliate links or sponsorships. I research on Reddit, I read reviews, I talk to people in shaver and razor shops, barbers, bald friends and random bald people in the street.
When I first went bald, I went to the barber every week to get my head shaved, and hated that fuzzy look. After spending $30 a week, I realised I had to figure it out for myself.
I started off like most people, with the clippers, getting it down to a one. Then I realised I liked a closer shave. I tried the razor, but it felt a little harsh and I didn’t have the technique down. I’ve gotten better over the years.
Then I got onto the Pitbull. It’s a good tool, but not great. And the fact that it says Pitbull, with that hideous logo, I find it embarrassing to have floating around my shower. So I set off to find something better.
I’d heard good things about the Remington on Reddit and other places. Personally, that wasn’t my experience. You’ll read about it in my review.
Now I’m on a bit of a tear. I’m dedicating this year to finding my ultimate kit, because I’m sick of not having the best looking head I can have. Little patches. A cut mole. A cut head that makes me half an hour late for dinner because I’m in a hotel without tissues or a styptic pen to fix it.
The price on each verdict is what I paid. After a trip, I update the review and it shows the date it changed.
I’m excited for you to come along. Hopefully we find the best tools and products together. And down the track, I’d love to release some of my own. Watch this space.
